If you want some energy we have the remedy! Jazz is an American style of music that originated in New Orleans in the early 20th century. It turns out that the G-House is a perfect spot for jazz as its architectural heritage has its roots in New Orleans from the Garden Style homes in the French Quarter. Jazz is known for its improvisation, syncopated rhythms, and forward momentum called "swing". Jazz is often characterized by a variety of emotions. You'll hear jazz, blues, southern rock and more. Feel some emotion with us and the Jazz Society this week!

Lloyd Buchanan is rooted in Gospel and the Blues. His connection to the Hammond organ began at a very early age with his mother. This indoctrination gave way to formal studies at LaGrange College where he expanded his musical vocabulary going deep into jazz improvisation. You’ve seen Lloyd’s smiling face on the BBC, Jools Holland, Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Last Call with Carson Daily, Black Entertainment Television (BET), Conan, the Odyssey Network and the Word Network. Lloyd is currently touring with Brittany Howard around the world. And yes, you will see our friend only at The Goetchius House this week!

Mike Jerel Live. “Mike, you just lit the room on fire,” Kelly Clarkson said after his performance on The Voice. Jonas stomped, Legend cheered, and Sheldon was awestruck. The audience gave a standing ovation after the performance. I have chills... and it's not the cold weather. Mike Jerel is a Columbus musician who's piano teacher lives on Broadway and studied at Columbus State University’s Schwob School of Music. Simply magical!
